More Thom Yorke goodies eh, the man must be feeling productive lately. This one is a limited split with Mark Mulcahy (who was from Miracle Legion I think) which was released as a way to help Mulchay's career after the sudden loss of his wife.

Mark Mulcahy's side is a reverby heartfelt piece full of high pitched vocals that somehow sounds awkwardly about ten years too late. Nothing wrong with that at all, though the structure and general sound of the track has a very odd feel to it. Maybe it's my naivity but I certainly found it a little hard to get into. Still, it's quite nice if a little fractured. Maybe that is to do with the circumstances and reasonings for this release (and subsquent album it seems).

On the other is Mr Yorke in full glitch out mode. Somehow remeniscent of his band's seminal Idioteque with its scattered beats, the track places firm emphesis on the vocals. Ands it's rather good indeed, clear vocals with the odd multi-tracked harmonies and heavily overdriven guitar work. Sometimes there is no end to this man's musical talents.

Nice stuff, if not particulary essential But then again, is music ever essential any more?
